When you open a new tab in Chrome, the browser app creates a New Tab page that displays sites you've recently visited along with your favorite apps and other information. You can view thumbnail images of your most-visited sites by clicking the 'Most Visited' button at the bottom of the page. Sep 24, 2018 - If you use Google Chrome then the default home page is a new tab. Basically, this is an overview of your most visited web pages, also known.
That breaks the deal.Firefox had been doing away with the menus, but it gave me the option of bringing them back. And there's a plugin that lets me make new Firefox look like old Firefox. And there's Tab Mix Plus that makes tabs creation behave the way I want it to.So Chrome is dead for me (with the exception of Chrome Remote Desktop, which uses Chrome as its underlying engine).IE? Gave that up over a decade ago. I still use it for SharePoint development because SP requires Active X for development and administrative functions.
But such use is the small exception.Edge is an abortion. It ran (past tense) on my work laptop. But it's just another browser with nothing to recommend it. I said 'past tense' because it no longer runs. When I try to run it I get a popup that says 'Microsoft Edge has stopped working'.
It's a dead horse here.It still works on my home desktop. But when I tried to import my Firefox bookmarks, it says 'Couldn't import favorites'.So it's not just that Edge isn't good.
Any identified development can be featured in red, so they end up clear to whoever watches the cameras. Security monitor pro 5.45 activation key. Additionally, clients can choose a movement affectability level, contingent upon whether they need to learn of the scarcest development or of the more significant ones.
It's not that Edge performs poorly. It's simply that Edge just doesn't work. I love or loved Firefox but I find myself using Chrome more because Firefox has a annoying problem of it going into a black screen I can be browsing for hours or just 5 minutes but it happens random.
Google Chrome Disable Most Visited Sites
The only solution is to disable hardware acceleration which I refuse to do as web pages lag and videos look terrible. This started with CU and I have the most current Nvidia drivers. Ran sfc /scannow no problems. Heck I even did a recent clean install still randomly blacks out.Not happy with Chrome either has fonts render worse and some websites like macrumors.com have really bad fuzzy fonts.
Only useless Google solutions is to disable Directwrite which is not in chrome anymore or download some dated extension which also does not work but because of the Firefox blackouts I have to use it more now. Black screen and instant reboot? If that is your case, depending on your chipset, you may benefit from installing the newest chipset drivers for your system, if available.I had the same problem. Kinda, Firefox freezed windows and forced a reboot, updating chipset drivers solved that issue, all works wonders, including Firefox (which now even enables hardware acceleration in H.264 without tweaks)You can try that. Hopefully, it will work.
My Google Chrome is no longer showing thumbnails. Where the thumbnails should be, there are icons for things like yahoo, facebook, you tube, Amazon and so forth. This just started happening 2 hours ago. I didn't make any changes except for downloading and installing a couple of PDF merge programs. Can you please help me get my old Chrome back (with thumbnails).Thank you in advance for any help.PLEASE SEE SOLUTION HERE by member slid3r'Enable using the Google local NTP' Flag Set to 'Enabled'Note: Post updated by forum admin to include link to solution. You're the only one who provided a suggestion that worked! Thanks!Everyone else is full of. and wasting people's time.
Your suggestion actually worked. Although i would amend the wording one bit for a bit more clarity to:Here is the solution.1. Open a new tab2. In the URL bar type: chrome://flags/3.
CTRL-F and type: Google local NTP4. Choose the option of: Google local NTP5. Set this feature to: 'Enabled'6.
RelaunchThat should restore your home page to the interface you're used to. Cobbie63 the same thing happened to me yesterday!
I was browsing around and was called away for a bit, when I came back I opened a new tab and noticed all my thumbnails are gone. After resetting several times (and that's a PITA because I have to go around and sign back into all the stuff I had been signed into already since I blasted my cookies) I'm still stuck with no thumbnails. I'm not happy that it happened, but I am relieved that I'm not the only one. It looks like Google might have pushed some kind of update, although I have auto-update turned off and didn't initiate this change so I'm a bit confused as to this behavior. I tried on two other laptops with the same effect. One laptop I haven't used in over two weeks, but it exhibited the same problem. I then had my wife log into her email on the laptop (she has an account on the laptop) and she also saw no thumbnails.
I had the same thing happen to me yesterday 8/6/18 and tried everything to get them to come back. I posted here and got no answer. I posted on CNET hoping they could help. Then later in the day I found out that Chrome had changed a lot of things so somehow I got a update of Chrome, but I do not like what then did. Yes I have the shortcuts, but more of them in little icon versions, new tabs on the top pages, etc.
Remove Thumbnails From Google Chrome Homepage 2018
I wish I could tell you how to change Chrome but perhaps if you go to and ask there they will tell you how to do it. It is just an update. Same issue here. I noticed yesterday morning that they were missing and then about an hour later they were back. This morning they were missing again.
Checked my wife's computer and same issue. Now, given that these are simply customizations of Google's web page (customized for each user signed in), would I be correct in assuming that Google has removed them at least temporarily for an update or maintenance? I've seen this issue before but this seems to be the longest period of time that they've been missing. I tried the solution but after step 3, I could not figure out how to do step 4. It was not obvious to me. Please help me understand what I am doing wrong.
Thanks. Can one of you people that made this work, please explain in simple words, what I need to do after step 3? HOW DO I 'SET THIS FEATURE TO ENABLED' i do not see any button or anything else to allow me to do that. I must be the dumbest guy on this site! I have had and worked with computers since 1984 so I am not completely computer illiterate, but can someone please help me?
